Welcome to Buena Vista Acres. Once you arrive and get settled in at the campsite...enjoy a scenic drive or motorcycle ride along Bryson City Road (Hwy 28) or the Blue Ridfe Parkway. We're surrounded by the Nanahala National Forest and near the Great Smokey Mountains -- about 2 hours north of Atlanta, 1 hour southwest of Asheville, 35 minutes from Cherokee, 30 minutes from Highlands, and just 20 minutes from Nanahala Outdoor Center. We're also only minutes from Little Tennessee River and local Ruby Mines, with the Appalacian Trail nearby for excellent hiking. Our home sites on 25 acres about 8 miles north of Franklin in the community of Cowee (ruby mining is less than 5 miles away). A small creek runs through the pasture land, which guests are welcome to explore. SITE #1 is directly off the road, easy to access, level and covered in gravel. It does have water access and a dump station is nearby. Generators are welcome Monday - Saturday 8am - 8pm answer Sunday 11 am - 8pm. A walkable road is just north of the site that leads to the pasture and creek. The property is a work in progress, guests are welcome to walk down the gravel road to the pasture and creek. We have three friendly dogs who love their home - they stay at our residence or on a leash when campsites are booked. Cell reception is generally good with AT&T and Verizon, though T-MOBILE can be spotty until you head back to town. Deer and wild turkey roam the property in season. Sit outside in the early morning or late evening and you might catch a glimpse of them. Just remember- you are in the country, so you might encounter other wildlife as well !!!
