Salters Cabin Horse Camp is located in a shaded, second-growth, ponderosa pine forest and makes for a great escape from those hot summer days! There is a corral on site for folks camping with horses to use. The cabin on site is for historic purposes and the Forest Service recommends that visitors do not enter or camp in the cabin. This is a small campground with a large turn around area, so it is a good place to go if your trailer or recreational vehicle had a hard time fitting other places. Though the parking area is big enough to accommodate many vehicles please be mindful of other users and do not encroach on their stay. As with most of the campgrounds on Ochoco National Forest, there are no hook-ups offered here so camping should be self-contained.
