A local favorite, Squaw Trail climbs nearly 800 feet in 1.5 miles up the Vermilion Cliffs on the northern edge of Kanab, offering expansive views of the city and the plateaus of northern Arizona along the way. The trail zigzags up a series of switchbacks to end at a picnic table above the town. From there, hikers can turn around or continue on the adjoining Connector Trail. Squaw Trail is open to foot traffic only. Bicycles, stock, and motorized vehicles are not allowed. Dogs are welcome, but their waste must be carried out. Disposal bags and a trash can are located at the trailhead.
